established psychological models

Most people know surprisingly little about who they are as a friend.

They have opinions about themselves — "I'm a good listener," "I value loyalty" — but no clear, shared language for it. When you meet someone new, there is no quick way to communicate what kind of friend you are, and what you need in return. Closeness tends to grow slowly, or not at all.

Your friendship profile — clear in 10 minutes.

Some misunderstandings aren't problems — they're different needs. Keep gives you words for your friendship style, based on Big Five, attachment theory, and love languages. So you can navigate closeness, expectations, and boundaries more consciously.

A mirror for strengths, needs, and patterns

You recognize how you give closeness, what you need, and when you tend to withdraw or overwhelm. This makes friendships less random — and makes you more reliable in your own style.

Shared language instead of guessing

Attachment style and love languages help you not take behavior personally, but understand it better. This creates clarity before small irritations turn into big distance.

Compatibility when you both take the test

Once two profiles exist, Keep shows how compatible your friendship styles are. Not as a judgment, but as guidance for better conversations.

Three dimensions. One complete picture.

Your friendship profile shows your Big Five scores — Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, Neuroticism — as percentage bars. Below that, your attachment style: are you secure, anxious, or avoidant? And finally your primary love language — what matters most to you in close relationships.

The result is not a label. It is a starting point — for conversations, for self-reflection, and for understanding others at a depth that small talk never reaches.

Common questions

How scientifically valid is the Friendship Test?

The Keep Friendship Test is built on three established frameworks: the Big Five personality model (Costa & McCrae), Bowlby's adult attachment theory, and Chapman's love languages. The questions are adapted from validated research instruments.

Can I retake the test if I want to update my profile?

Yes. You can retake the Friendship Test at any time from your profile. Your previous results are replaced — nothing is permanently locked in.

What is attachment style and why does it matter for friendships?

Attachment style describes how you relate to closeness and trust in relationships. Secure attachment means you're comfortable with both closeness and independence — anxious and avoidant styles reflect different patterns around needing reassurance or keeping distance.

Is my profile shared automatically?

Never. Your profile is stored locally on your device. You can share it via a link only when you choose to — nothing is visible to others by default.

What are love languages in the context of friendships?

Originally developed for romantic relationships, love languages also apply to friendships. They describe what makes you feel valued and close: Quality Time, Words of Affirmation, Acts of Service, Physical Touch (like hugs), or Gifts.
